SUBJECT: Advanced Degrees
EFFECTIVE DATE: August 10, 1988
This policy establishes the eligibility of faculty members for admission into advanced
degree programs at the University.
No person holding the rank of professor or associate professor at the University of
Pittsburgh will be admitted to an advanced degree program in any school within the
- With the exception of part-time faculty members outside the tenure stream.
This regulation is not meant to prevent members of the University faculty from taking
courses for credit, here or elsewhere.
Exceptions may be made by the Senior Vice President or Provost for a person seeking a
second advanced degree in a school other than that of his or her appointment.
